Lewis Hamilton, by finishing eleventh in qualifying for the Australian Grand Prix, is the first driver from one of the top four teams to be eliminated before Q3 during a qualifying session this season.

According to Martin Whitmarsh, the extravagant night out of the 2008 World Champion has something to do with it. Friday evening, the Briton was arrested by the police, his Mercedes being taken from him, due to “dangerous” and “exuberant” driving, according to the pilot’s words. Hamilton had performed a few “burns” in the streets of Melbourne.
