Haryanto: Limited testing at Silverstone

Rio Haryanto was only able to set the third time in the first session of the rookie tests at Silverstone after being blocked in the pits by a leak noted on his car. The Indonesian was only able to complete 19 laps compared to 34 for his teammate Max Chilton who was ahead of him by eight tenths at the end of the day. If the weather forecast for this second day of testing in Great Britain promises to be rainy, the Carlin driver who competes in the GP2 Series still intends to take advantage of it to spend more time on the British track.

“It was already exceptional to have the chance to test with Marussia (Virgin) in 2010 and to have this second chance is really something very special”, commented the Indonesian. “I feel like I have developed as a driver and I feel better prepared. It's a bit disappointing to have only completed 19 laps. Even without the leak, the weather worked against us at the end of the day. It still remains a very enriching experience. Everything is very well structured here and the whole team is very open. I was very happy with the balance of the car which turned out to be very different from the one I drove in 2010.”
