After purchasing 75,1% of the Brawn GP team, Mercedes must now concentrate on the choice of its drivers for 2010. For now, after the departure of Rubens Barrichello at Williams and the probable engagement of Jenson Button with McLaren, the team finds itself with two free seats. A situation which should quickly evolve.
« I clearly understood that all enthusiasts of Formula 1 around the world wanted to know who the pilots would be. It?s not completely decided yet but I think and hope that we can announce something in the next fortnight “, announced Norberg Haug. “ We're going to do a good job of that, can I promise you that? and maybe there will be surprises? »
If the arrival of Nico Rosberg should be announced shortly, the second seat could be occupied by another German in the person of Nick Heidfeld unless Kimi Räikkönen joins the Mercedes GP team.
