Haug: “Sebastian Vettel’s dominance won’t be undermined anytime soon”

Author of three victories, two with Nico Rosberg and one with Lewis Hamilton, the firm with the star had a solid season. Now managed by Paddy Lowe, Toto wolff and Niki Lauda following the departure of Ross Brawn, Mercedes hopes to do better next season and beat Red Bull, Ferrari et al.

But for Norbert Haug, who was replaced by Toto Wolff before the 2013 season, it will certainly be difficult.

"I don't think that the domination of Sebastian Vettel could be undermined soon, the 61-year-old German told radio station Sport1. I also don't think that Red Bull will become less competitive during the winter despite the arrival of the greatest technological innovation in F1 since 25 years. »

Despite everything, Haug remains lucid and believes that Mercedes will be a strong opponent in 2014.

“With a driver duo composed of Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton, the team is very strong, admitted the German. And since we started thinking about the new engine generation five years ago, I think Mercedes will be able to challenge for the title,” concluded Norbert Haug.
