Heidfeld: LRGP in the right direction

Despite his retirement from the Canadian GP, Nick Heidfeld believes in a return to the forefront of Lotus-Renault GP. The problems encountered in Monaco would now be resolved for good.

Lotus-Renault GP has had a mixed last two races. Vitaly Petrov retired in Monte-Carlo, after disappointing qualifying by the British team. But the R31s seemed to be in better shape in Montreal, even if Nick Heidfeld retired while fighting at the front.

Despite his goalless result in Canada, the German remains optimistic for the rest of the Lotus-Renault GP season. ?It was important for the team to leave Canada having understood some of the problems encountered in Monaco and we have clearly proven that these concerns have been resolved. »

“We now know in which direction we must move forward”, adds Nick Heidfeld. “This is what the team started to do during the two-week break between Monaco and Montreal. These things don?t happen by magic in the middle of the night, but we did a good job of analysis to establish where we needed to improve. »
