Hockenheim, a good test for Romain Grosjean

Hockenheim does not necessarily bring back good memories to Romain Grosjean. For his only Grand Prix on this track in 2012, the Frenchman from the Lotus team was penalized on the starting grid and damaged his car very early in the race. However, Pastor Maldonado's teammate is eagerly awaiting the next meeting of the season. “We have worked hard to improve in the slow corners, so Hockenheim will be a good test to see our progress. Apart from the portion after the hairpin, there is not really a straight line that will use the Power Unit. The latter will really be used during acceleration, more than at maximum speed. » explains the former GP2 champion.

The Frenchman was not on track this week at Silverstone, but closely observed the evolution of the E22, notably driven by his compatriot Charles Pic, who tested the 18-inch tires on the English circuit. “The goal was to complete a thorough aerodynamic program, which we did. It's a little too early to tell what will come out of this session, but it looked positive. With the new regulations, each outing on the track is valuable to maintain the development curve. »

Romain Grosjean will take to the track next Friday for the first tests in Germany.
