Hollande: French GP re-examined after elections

Could the return of the French Grand Prix be threatened by the presidential elections? A priori no since the financing of the F1 at Paul-Ricard is financed by local authorities while the State is content to guarantee the financing. Bernie Ecclestone has also suggested that an announcement would be made between the two rounds of the presidential elections.

The presidential candidate nevertheless clarified this morning to the newspaper L'Equipe that the file would be re-examined after the elections if he accessed the Elysée. “There will be a consultation to take place the day after the presidential election to ensure that it is coordinated and organized. There has been too much haste on the issue of the French Formula 1 Grand Prix. We will re-examine it if we are elected. I don't think it's up to the State to make any financial effort whatsoever. There are enough emergencies not to consider that there are tens of millions of euros to devote to the Grand Prix. »

The new issue of AUTOhebdo available in digital version for iPad and on newsstands looks at the progress of the French Grand Prix file.
