Honda confirms its presence until 2021

This is a strong and positive signal for the future of the Grands Prix. Honda, one of the four manufacturers currently engaged in F1, will remain involved in the discipline as an engine manufacturer at least until 2021.

The Japanese brand has confirmed the extension of its partnership with Red Bull et Toro Rosso, which will become AlphaTauri in 2020, for the next two seasons.

The Japanese engine manufacturer made its return to F1 in 2015 by renewing the alliance with McLaren, but the technical difficulties in jumping on the bandwagon after the implementation of hybrid Power Units caused numerous mechanical problems and a lack of performance. The Woking team finally decided to take the engine block Renault for the 2018 season.

Honda managed to maintain its status by powering Toro Rosso last year before adding the premier Red Bull team to its address book this year. The association with the Red Taurus was much more successful since Max Verstappen has already scored 3 victories this year with the Asian Power Unit before the season concludes this weekend at the Abu Dhabi GP.

Faenza's little sister is not to be outdone since she found her way to the podium for the first time in more than 10 years thanks to Daniil Kvyat in Germany, and Pierre Gasly in Brazil.

Honda has played 29 seasons as an engine manufacturer to date and has 75 Grand Prix victories, 79 poles and 184 podiums.
