Honda will focus on performance

Yasuhia Arai, Honda sporting director, responded to concerns raised by McLaren. The Japanese engine manufacturer intends to prioritize performance after having noted progress in terms of reliability, even if everything is still far from perfect at this level within the team. Woking.

“The first part of the season is over and we intend to take a step forward in the second”, assured the Japanese. “McLaren has a new aero package with a shorter nose and will have an optimized Power Unit which will be more competitive. Reliability is almost fixed. Despite some problems, our main objective was to finish the races. We are now aiming for more performance."

As the new engine manufacturer, Honda still has seven tokens to use during the season.
