Horner points out the difference in pace between qualifying and the race

Main threat -and still- of Mercedes this season, Red Bull was unable to destabilize the Silver Arrows this weekend in Belgium. Lacking rhythm, Max Verstappen did not have the opportunity to insert himself between the two W11s just like his teammate Alexander albon.

“We benefited from the slipstream during the race but we found ourselves in dirty air in the second sector,” explained Christian Horner after the finish.

« Being in the dirty air here has a lot of impact so we kept our distance from them (Lewis Hamilton et Valtteri Bottas) during the first relay. During the second we were on the same rhythm.

We were trying to put pressure on them in case the race switched to a two-stop strategy (...) Ultimately Max was able to stay a few seconds behind Valtteri Bottas but we didn't have the pace we needed today (Sunday) ". Well tried.
