Horner: Toro Rosso should be ahead of Red Bull

Christian Horner did not hide his apprehension about the start of the season during the presentation of the new Red Bull livery on Wednesday February 17 in London. The Main Team of Red Bull Racing expects a tricky start to the year given the progress of other teams such as Toro Rosso which will have the Power Unit of Ferrari.

“It should be a two-part season and the first should be much better. Teams like Toro Rosso will make a big step forward simply by changing Power Units, but we hope to make big progress during the year.", commented the Briton who expects that the Ferrari engine block which will equip the Faenza single-seaters will be more efficient than the 6l turbo/hybrid V1.6 of Renault which will be rebadged Tag Heuer on cars in Milton Keynes.

Christian Horner is optimistic about Renault's involvement. “It’s positive to see Renault committing at this level in F1 because they should have the necessary resources to enable them to be competitive. I think they have a clearer idea of how far behind they are and what needs to be done to fix it. They seem more confident and I think they were able to surround themselves well by finding quality consultants with solid experience”, specified the Team Principal of Red Bull Racing.
