Horner: Webber made a logical decision

Mark Webber has been confirmed at Red Bull Racing for the 2013 season, which will constitute the Australian's seventh consecutive season with the Austrian team. If the latter admitted to having been in discussions with Ferrari, his choice to extend his contract with the Red Bull is a logical decision for Team Principal Christian Horner. The last winner of the British GP is currently ahead of his teammate Sebastian Vettel, yet irresistible for two seasons, and is in a good place to obtain the title with only 13 points behind the leader Fernando Alonso.

“Mark has driven very well in these first nine races of the season and his performances have been impressive”, recognized Christian Horner who celebrated the Australian's second victory last weekend after his first victory in Monaco. “Most of his successes in F1 were achieved with Red Bull Racing and together we achieved ten poles, nine victories and 31 podiums. Given that the desire to continue this partnership was so strong on both sides, it was a logical decision to continue our relationship and it is with great pleasure that we can confirm that Mark will ride with us in 2013."
