Hülkenberg: “A bad start would have been better”

Starting from eighth position at the Singapore Grand Prix, Nico Hulkenberg gave up after only a few meters. The Force India driver ended his race in the tire wall after being destabilized by contact with Carlos Sainz Jr. (Toro Rosso) who sought to avoid the Red Bull de Max Verstappen.

“I started from the gate but I didn’t go very far, regretted the Force India driver. I had a very good start, but a bad one would have been better in this situation. I found myself sandwiched between the Toro Rossos, I had contact with Carlos who hit me from the left rear and sent me into the wall. »

Despite the disappointment, Nico Hülkenberg does not seem to have any hard feelings towards Carlos Sainz Jr.

“We can consider this as a racing incident, added the German. I don't believe it was intentional as the race started and the cars accelerated. It's just racing but it's frustrating. »
