Before this 4th round of the world championship, Ferrari n’est toujours pas parvenu à concrétiser par une victoire son regain de forme. Équipée depuis Kyalami de son emblématique lame avant, la 312 B3 semble pourtant se bonifier au fil des courses et le meilleur temps réalisé par Niki Lauda lors des essais préalables est de bon augure.
