Pierre Gasly et Esteban Ocon will not be the only French on the grid in 2025. The Normans will indeed be joined by their young compatriot Isack Hadjar. 2024 vice-champion of Formula 2, the protégé of Red Bull took advantage of the departure of Sergio Perez to obtain a starting place in Formula 1.
It all happened in three stages. First there was the officialization of the end of the collaboration with the Mexican, then the promotion of Liam Lawson in his place and finally that of Isack Hadjar as a starter at Racing Bulls. Within the stable of Faenza, the Tricolore will team up with Yuki tsunoda, ultimately not selected to support Max Verstappen within the mother stable.
Isack Hadjar is the first French driver to be promoted to Formula 1 since Pierre Gasly at Toro Rosso, now known as… Racing Bulls. He is also the 19th driver in the history of the Red Bull Junior Team to reach F1.
« I am very excited to start this new adventure with Racing Bull., welcomes the Francilien. This is huge for me, my family and everyone who believed in me from the beginning. The journey that took me from karting to the car, and then to Formula 1, is the moment I have worked my whole life for, it is the dream. I feel like I am entering a whole new world, driving a much faster car and racing with the best drivers in the world. It is a huge opportunity to continue learning, but I am ready to work hard and do my best for the team. I am looking forward to working with Yuki and learning from him, I have always admired him, he came through the Red Bull Junior Program, like me, and we shared a similar journey to F1. He is very experienced and it will be good to learn from him »

What a masterfully executed 3-act play by Red Bull or how to generate media coverage in several waves! Officialization of the release of TexMex replaced in the process by Liam Lawson allowing the tenure of Isack Hadjar in the Racing Bulls incubator. We will see if in 2025, a Lawson / Tsunhonda permutation will take place!

Incidentally, we note that Perez's ouster still bears the signature of the RB management of rare elegance. By firing him after the last GP when all the places are taken, it doesn't even leave him a chance to apply elsewhere... Red Bull really takes care of its image through F1...
