While waiting for a possible promotion in Formula 1 in the future, Jack Doohan will discover the premier category thanks to Alpine whose he has been a member of his academy since last January. Installed on the Losail circuit in Qatar for three days of testing, the French team will offer the Australian his first experience behind the wheel of an F1.

On May 15, Jack Doohan will take to the track aboard theAlpine A521, the car used by Fernando Alonso et Esteban Ocon during the 2021 season. I'm very excited to drive a Formula 1 car for the first time, recognized the current Virtuosi pilot in F2. It's something I've been working towards since I started in karting, and I am aware that this is a special moment that I will have to savor. I am very grateful to Alpine to give myself this opportunity and I can't wait to give the best of myself during this day of testing. I was lucky enough to be able to observe some private testing sessions from behind the scenes and I prepared a lot in the simulator, enstone. So I feel ready to take on this challenge. I will build on all of this on the big day, while having fun and hoping to learn as much as possible alongside the team.."

Note thatAlpine took advantage of this stopover in Qatar to allow his reserve pilot Oscar piastri to ride for two days (May 11 and 12). “ These two days of testing in Qatar, during which I continued to familiarize myself with the A521, were prolific, believes, for his part, the other AustralianAlpine. It was very hot, but that's a good thing for physical preparation. As the circuit had not been used for a long time, there were different levels of grip, and we had to deal with dust and wind. It was a challenge at times, but it was also important for me to learn how to drive the car in different conditions. I look forward to joining the F1 team again in Barcelona and Monaco before my next day of private testing in June. »
