Jacques Villeneuve keeps hope alive

Jacques Villeneuve maintains the hope of a return to Formula 1, while available places are becoming increasingly rare. At present, only the Campos Meta 1 and USF1 teams have a place available, even if the Stefan GP hypothesis remains viable. But Ralf Schumacher et Kazuki Nakajima seem to be at the top of the list of the Serbian team, which still hopes to participate in the next Formula 1 world championship. A hope shared by Jacques Villeneuve, who does not want to give up on his project.

« My plan remains the same since I decided to find myself a wheel in F1, says the 1997 world champion to RueFrontenac.com. I continue to work hard to explain to the team bosses why it is a good idea to put me in their car and, frankly, I feel that the message is getting across better and better. It?s not always easy to fight against drivers who bring millions but I?m not close to a challenge. »

In order to be able to find a place on the starting grids of the Formula 1 Grand Prix in 2010, Jacques Villeneuve continues to prepare physically. The Quebecer continues training sessions with Dr. Erwin Göllner in Austria. “ I have to be in good shape to jump into any car at any time., confirms Villeneuve. This is why I work hard with Erwin. I'm ready if they need me now for private testing and I'll be ready if they need me once the season starts. »

While he has not yet been able to attract the confidence of a team, Jacques Villeneuve believes that the choice of certain rookie drivers in F1 was not wise. “ I am convinced that many teams will become disillusioned with the choices they have made. Paid pilots with no experience are all well and good, but with the end of electronics and the absence of refueling, that changes things enormously. »
