Japan – EL3: McLaren takes a one-two before qualifying

Just a few hundredths of a second separate the Woking riders from George Russell, in 3rd, the only one who can get close to their pace at the moment. Behind the Briton, the riders Ferrari follow, with Max Verstappen interspersed between them, but Charles Leclerc point at four tenths and Lewis Hamilton more than half a second.

To Red Bull On the other hand, the situation is more worrying. Max Verstappen complained about his car at the end of the session and the team seems to be struggling to find solutions. The RB21 struggles in particular when passing over the circuit's kerbs, where its rigidity handicaps it. On the other hand, the good news comes from Yuki tsunoda, who once again managed to finish relatively close to Max Verstappen for his first weekend at Red Bull.

The session was interrupted by two red flags, once again for the start of a fire on the grass at the edge of the circuit: a problem that has been going on since Friday and for which no solution has been found so far...
