Jean-Eric Vergne does not disarm

Jean-Eric Vergne is having a complicated first European Grand Prix. Especially after the penalty received yesterday in free practice, following the loss of his right rear wheel after a pit stop. With 10 penalty places on the grid, the Frenchman admits to having voluntarily sacrificed his qualifying today to better attack on Sunday.

“That was the plan in Q2: save the new tires and prepare for an aggressive race tomorrow, confesses Vergne. I think it was a wise decision to make. It is true that it is not the best track for overtaking but I will do my best to pass the cars in front of me, whether on the left, on the right, everywhere, taking every opportunity to gain positions. The car was a bit difficult to drive all weekend except for the long runs, so I'm hoping to have a good race tomorrow. »

It will therefore be necessary to monitor the Toro Rosso n°25 at the start, and especially at the start of the first turn.
