While Max Mosley has declared that he cannot run again at the head of the FIA, the candidates are laying down their first pawns. At present, only Ari Vatanen and Jean Todt, two big names in motorsport, have declared themselves as potential successors to the Briton. The Frenchman is already starting to put together the team he would like to have around him.
Brian Gibbons, director of the New Zealand Automobile Association, is called upon to take charge of Mobility. Graham Stoker, president of the British Motor Sports Association, would be in charge of the Sport department, where Nick Craw is currently. The latter would be offered the presidency of the FIA Senate. In line with the current presidency, Jean Todt tries to convince that his intentions are the most effective.
