Jean Todt, the unifier

Jean Todt, why do you want to be president of the FIA?
Throughout my career, as a competitor, manager, team principal and executive director, I have experienced success in an intense competitive environment. I worked with talented and dedicated people, with teams with a lot of passion, pride and responsibility. From now on, I work closely with my team and I want to bring all my experience, acquired throughout my career, and put it at the service of the FIA and its members.

With my team, we have developed a political agenda for the FIA. We believe this will offer a new vision that the FIA should develop in the years to come. I am very optimistic that we can implement what we have proposed. We are humbled to believe that we can help shape the future of the FIA.

I have had many chances, during my career, to experience success in motorsport and to benefit from the work carried out by previous FIA presidents. I think the time has come for me to give something back to this sport and to the FIA, who have given me so much.

What characterizes your application?
Above all, teamwork, which has been my trademark for the last 28 years. With a commitment to excellence and innovation, teamwork will be the cornerstone of working with FIA associations and members to find a common vision for our future.

Some criticize the fact that Max Mosley endorses your candidacy. What do you think ?
Like everyone in the FIA, Max has the right to have his own opinion. I am very honored by his statements. But Max knows, like me, that only the full support of all FIA members will decide the name of the next FIA president. Max, through his work, has brought a lot to the FIA and, although I respect his legacy, I will also make important changes to the FIA.

I am more of a manager than a politician and my quality is to encourage and ensure teamwork. This is what I have tried to do throughout my career and this is why I have enjoyed success in different disciplines of motorsport. The FIA is a very complex organization and I believe my experience in skills management will offer something new and unique within the FIA.
