Jenson Button focused on strategy

Jenson Button tried Pirelli's super soft tires for the first time. The pilot McLaren, like his opponents, was pleasantly surprised by the performance and durability of the new tires from the Italian manufacturer. But the 2009 World Champion is hesitant about the strategy to adopt for the race.

« There is much less degradation compared to what we expected “, admits Jenson Button. “ I did a long run with the super soft tires and they held up well, as did the soft tires. But it?s not easy to predict which strategy will be the most effective for Sunday afternoon »

The McLaren driver says he is comfortable behind the wheel of the MP4-26, even if certain points still need to be improved. “ The first lap is always a shock because it?s really slippery », adds the former World Champion. “ But once the grip is there, the car works well and it?s very pleasant to be behind the wheel. I feel more comfortable in the car compared to last year, even if there are still a few points to improve. »
