Jenson Button swears by McLaren

While Jenson Button's future for 2016 remains uncertain, the 2009 world champion swears loyalty to McLaren despite the difficulties that the team has been going through since its association with Honda. The 35-year-old Briton, who has defended the colors of the Woking team since 2010, is currently in discussions regarding his future with Ron Dennis, the director of the English firm.

“Ron and I are having good discussions and I hope it continues like that”, said Jenson Button on Sky Sports News HQ. « If I stay in F1, it will be with McLaren. I've been through some tough times since the end of last year, but I've spent a lot of time with this team and I've had some good times there too. I won 8 victories with her, I finished runner-up in 2011 and I had some great fights with my teammates. I also have a lot of friends there. »

Jenson Button also remains confident about McLaren's expected return to form since the start of the season, with the British outfit having only scored 17 points after 13 Grands Prix. “I am convinced that this team will fight at the forefront in the future. It's just a matter of whether I'll be there or not," added the teammate of Fernando Alonso.
