Jerez: Alguersuari takes pole

After a rainy day on Wednesday, the teams of Formula 1 had to deal with the vagaries of the sky again this Friday. Some teams did not hesitate to increase the kilometers, like Williams, Rubens Barrichello having completed 120 laps. On the other hand, Virgin Racing chomped at the bit again, Lucas di Grassi only being able to cover 8 laps, which is only 24 laps in three days of testing. John Booth's team had to wait to receive the missing parts to attach a new wing to the VR01 and send it to the track.

The rain clouds having hung over the track for most of the day, the best times were recorded at the start of the session. Pedro de la Rosa (Sauber), Jaime Alguersuari (Toro Rosso) and Felipe Massa (Ferrari) stood out at the top of the timesheet, and it was ultimately the young Spaniard Alguersuari who took the lead (1:19:919) before the rain appeared.

This Saturday, a fourth and final day of testing is scheduled. The teams that have not completed their battery of tests will therefore be able to continue their development work. Little change in the seats since only Robert Kubica (Renault) and Michael Schumacher (Mercedes) will return to the track. They will be accompanied by eight drivers who have already ridden this Friday: Lewis Hamilton (McLaren), Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull), Felipe Massa (Ferrari), Pedro de la Rosa (Sauber), Jaime Alguersuari (Toro Rosso), Rubens Barrichello (Williams), Adrian Sutil (Force India) and Lucas di Grassi (Virgin).
