Jerez: McLaren chooses Turvey

Oliver Turvey will be in Jerez this week (Tuesday to Thursday) to take part in private tests reserved for young drivers. The Briton notably won the prestigious Monaco race, under the eyes of the Formula 1 team directors. In addition, Turvey took part in the recent GP2 Series private tests, at the start of the GP2 Asia Series season and was chosen by iSport International for the next European GP2 Series season.

« I have imagined this moment so often, it is extraordinary to have the chance to take part in these tests with the Vodafone McLaren team. Mercedes this week, confides Turvey. My goal is to take advantage of this opportunity, but also to learn as much as I can. As much as possible, I would also like to help the team prepare for the next season. »

« A test drive in a competitive car is every racing driver's dream, comments Martin Whitmarsh, team manager of McLaren-Mercedes. I am sure that Oliver will be able to use this experience to continue his brilliant career as a single-seater driver. »
