The French manager had however been announced leaving on January 1, replaced in his position by Thierry Koskas. The one who was to be in direct contact with Caros Ghosn left the French group, no explanation other than the tweet posted by Renault Sport F1 having been given.
Thierry Koskas has served as Sales Director of the Renault Group since 2016, also being part of the Renault Executive Committee. Renault Sport Racing, in addition to F1, will continue to promote the Formula Renault Eurocup and the various Clio Cup series in 2019.
The F1 team, for its part, recorded the reinforcement of Daniel Ricciardo, arrived as a replacement for Carlos Sainz, left towards home McLaren.
