Jérôme Stoll to step down as president of Renault Sport Racing

President of Renault sport racing and stakeholder in the return of the Losange in F1 as a builder in its own right, Jerome Stoll will not extend its lease within the competition division of the French brand.

At the end of his contract on December 31, Jérôme Stoll will leave his position, after seeing the team finish 5th in the Manufacturers' ranking this year, but with real progress since the return of French single-seaters to F1.

“These 5 years as president of Renault Sport Racing have been very intense,” emphasizes Jérôme Stoll. Taking on the challenge of rebuilding a Formula 1 team is difficult, it requires time, commitment and unwavering determination.

A first step has been taken with a team and drivers that we now see on the podiums. I appreciate the privilege that has been mine to be able to be a part of all these changes and all our progress.

Motorsport, and even more so Formula 1, is above all a human adventure, encounters, bonds formed, joys, disappointments and inestimable rewards.

The titles won in Formula E (via Renault e.dams, Editor’s note) and see our cars driven by young drivers in the Eurocup (which will merge in 2021 with the European Regional Formula to become the European Regional Formula by Alpine) or in Clio Cup (with the launch of the new version of the Clio, available in three versions, circuit, rally et rallycross) are an integral part of these beautiful emotions.

I am indebted to all the members of this company, they are committed and determined to give their best to promote our brand and our values. A new page now opens with the arrival ofAlpine, the best is yet to come I am sure. I am happy and proud to have participated in this great adventure with great people. »

Alpine F1 Team will see from 2021 Fernando Alonso, back after his two world titles in 2005 and 2006, and Esteban Ocon lead the French commitment in F1.
