John Booth joins Toro Rosso

While John Booth had previously managed the Manor stable in WEC (after that initiated in F1), Toro Rosso has just announced his appointment as competition director where he will play a consulting role. The Briton will be present this weekend at the Russian Grand Prix in Sochi.

“This is a team that has achieved so much in such a short time. I look forward to working with Franz (Tost, the Team Principal) and his team starting in Sochi. It is a great honor to join a team as competitive as the Team Toro Rosso », commented the new recruit.

“I have known John for many years and am delighted to welcome him among us”, added Franz Tost. “F1 has become more complex, notably with changes to the front tires, settings, radio communications... A competitive car and talented drivers are no longer enough. With his great experience, I am sure that John will help the team raise its level of play.”
