Jose Marie López thought his dream would finally come true. Unfortunately for “Pechito”, the Bahrain GP is unlikely to mark his debut in Formula 1. Indeed, in an interview given to Ultimavuelta.com.ar, his agent Felipe McGough announced that the Argentine driver had managed to get rid of his contract linking him to Peter Windsor and Ken Anderson.

“The situation today is as follows: We have managed to free ourselves from the contract signed with USF1. Now the last option is called José Ramon Carbante. We are looking for all solutions that could allow Pechito to keep one foot in the world of Formula 1, and a third driver position allowing him to drive on Fridays is one of them.

The future of USF1 seems to be getting darker day by day. After the departure of various partners, the only driver who signed also deserted. It remains to be seen whether the place which should be left vacant will be taken by Stefan GP, the Serbian team repeating for weeks that it is ready to start the Bahrain GP on March 14.
