Celebration day at Red Bull Racing

“It’s incredible, I’m so happy. With ten laps to go, I tried to control the gap separating me from Mark and adapt my pace accordingly. I tried to control the situation, but it was difficult. I had to try to get the car back safely, but I risked losing my concentration. So I took things turn by turn. In the last two laps I was really very careful, I didn't want to risk aquaplaning,” jubilant Sebastian as soon as he got off the podium.

“Today I won my second victory, the first was with Toro Rosso and here is the second with Red Bull. It makes me very happy, I hope we can continue like this! I am happy to have won the race, it is the reward for a huge amount of work by the team. I want to thank each of them, because they have not stopped in recent months,” concludes the German.

Second after an equally strong race, Mark Webber said it was “an incredible day for the team considering what happened last night. We were scared that our cars would not be able to complete this race because of our wheel shaft problems. So it's incredible to finish by scoring 18 points! This comes after missed opportunities for Sebastian in Australia and for me in Malaysia. »

For the Australian, the best moment of this race will remain the fight with Jenson Button after the second safety car period: “When I found myself alone in the lead, I couldn't believe it, the visibility was so good! I attacked hard to try to widen the gap, it was fantastic. When Jenson got back in front, I still thought I could win the race and I tried a maneuver in turn 7 knowing very well that he was not expecting an attack there. It was one of the best overtakes of my career! »
