Contrasting day for Romain Grosjean

Confident about the potential of his car, Romain Grosjean partly confirmed his expectations during the first free practice session of the Malaysian Grand Prix, with the fourth time behind the Mercedes by Nico Rosberg and the two Ferrari by Kimi Räikkönen and Sebastian Vettel. However, the Frenchman was unable to make it happen in EL2, victim of the mechanics of his Lotus E23. “It was a pretty limited day for me in terms of riding. We were pretty fast in the morning, but the afternoon was cut short due to an issue we were investigating. It's been a frustrating day, but I'm sure we'll bounce back tomorrow. »

Grosjean said he noticed a loss of power during the second practice session at Sepang, just like in Australia, where his race was interrupted at the end of the first lap. “We are investigating the issue with Romain's car, which appears different to the one that occurred in Australia, despite similar symptoms. » explains Nick Chester, technical director of the teamenstone.

The Lotus E23 Hybrids will return to the track tomorrow in Malaysia for the third free practice session, then qualifying, to be followed live on our website.
