Half-full day for Hamilton

After coming close to the mark of 250 laps completed during the first two days of testing in Jerez (Spain), la Mercedes W06 Hybrid was finally found fault. Lewis Hamilton completed 91 laps and achieved the fourth time of the day, 1” from the benchmark established by Sebastian Vettel before having to dismount following a hydraulic leak.

Lewis Hamilton was not offended, with the reigning world champion focusing on the development of the W06 Hybrid. “I feel a bit the same as last year, that’s a good sign”, commented the Briton. “There is a bit more downforce but the car handles the same otherwise. The balance could still be improved because we haven't yet worked on the settings, but the priority is to accumulate laps and not to set the best times. We've done quite a bit and I hope we can do even more over the next two days. »

Mercedes has been able to accumulate a lot of data, whether on the W06 Hybrid or on its Power Units, since the star-studded V6s have already covered 885km in Jerez.
