Jules Bianchi proved himself at Jerez

Jules Bianchi impressed the Jerez paddock by setting the third time of the test week (1'18"175) taking advantage of a stint on soft tires. The pilot of the Ferrari Driver Academy took little time to get its bearings on the VJM06 with which it played part of the last session, completing 56 laps. The Frenchman, expected to be made official at Force India, was keen to achieve a good performance even if the priority was the development of the new car.

“My first experience behind the wheel of the new car is very positive and it is definitely an improvement on last year’s car”, commented Jules Bianchi at the end of testing where he handed over the wheel to Paul di Resta for the final hours. “I spent most of the time on the track with the medium tires, but I had an opportunity to put the softs on and those tires offered a lot of grip, which I didn't mind. It was also good to be able to do long stints so I could feel the car when it had a lot of fuel on it, it was a good experience. I'm happy that the team called on me this week and I'm happy with today. »
