Jules Bianchi insatiable after qualifying

Things are going well for Jules Bianchi in Malaysia. The young French driver from Marussia, just like in Australia at the end of qualifying, fulfilled his mission. By placing in 19th position at the end of the session in 1, the rookie was more than a second ahead of his teammate Max Chilton (38st in 434) as well as the two rival Caterhams.

Better yet, the Niçois only failed 0,227 seconds behind Valtteri Bottas, the pilot Williams, qualified 18th and only 0,567 behind Pastor Maldonado's time, synonymous with qualification in Q2. A small performance which allows the French beginner to showcase himself aboard his modest Marussia. “I'm obviously delighted with my qualifying lap today, but seeing how close we were to Q2 makes me want more”, explains Jules Bianchi. “It was not an easy part during free practice, we struggled with tire degradation. During the break, we worked to focus everything on a single lap for this afternoon and everything went well in the end, especially with the weather remaining dry for us. »

“I'm not sure we can expect the same dry conditions tomorrow, we'll see. I feel like we can have a very interesting race and show? maybe exciting – and show our progress since Melbourne”, hopes the Marussia driver. ?I'm not sure it will be easier tomorrow, but I hope we can bring home another good result, as a reward for the whole team?, concludes Jules Bianchi.
