Jules Bianchi: “Not a big impact”

Fourth time of the second day of testing on the Andalusian track, the Frenchman impressed and delighted the Indian team. Unfortunately, he was unable to repeat his performance, after leaving the track in the first hour, without having set a time after having covered only 6 kilometers. “ I made a small mistake in my second run, says Bianchi. The tires were cold, I spun in the gravel and hit the tire wall. It wasn't a big impact, but it caused some damage. I am very sorry for my mistake because it cost the team a lot of time and effort. But I prefer to focus on the positive, namely that yesterday was a very good day and I really enjoyed this week of work with the team. »

The mechanics tried to repair the damage, but a small component was missing in the braking system which forced the team to throw in the towel. The part should arrive overnight to allow Nico Hulkenberg, tomorrow, for the last day, to get to know his new VJM05. “ It's frustrating to have lost time on the track today but we will ignore it because our previous two days were very productive, with a lot of kilometers covered., recognizes Andrew Green, the technical director. The damage was not too serious, but the lack of spare parts at this time of year meant that we were not able to be back on track this afternoon. The car will be ready tomorrow morning. We are going to continue the work on the aerodynamics that we started this morning and make the most of the tires that we were not able to use today. »
