Kaltenborn should succeed Peter Sauber

Aged 68, Peter Sauber plans to take a well-deserved retirement soon. The boss of the Swiss team revealed in Der Sonntag that he would appoint Monisha Kaltenborn to replace him at the head of the team. This 41-year-old Indian already holds the position of team manager after having climbed the ranks for several years. The Team Principal had already handed over control of the team to Mario Theissen when he sold it to BMW. After its buyout in 2010 following the manufacturer's abandonment of the propeller, Peter Sauber wants to retire permanently before he turns 70.

“I have always said that I will no longer go to the pit walls at the age of 70”he recalled. “I say this with certainty, my successor will be Monisha Kaltenborn and my opinion will be exactly the same when I leave. She will become the first woman to manage a stable in the history of the F1. She has been with us for 13 years and has always held leadership roles. I am convinced that she will do a very good job. My departure will be permanent, I will not be able to dive back into it a second time. »
