Kevin Magnussen found his feet at Haas F1 Team

By getting ahead Renault Sport F1 Team and Sauber F1 Team for its first season in the discipline, the team Haas made an encouraging start. 2017 should therefore mark the year of confirmation for the Gene Haas structure, which will however be faced with the change in technical regulations.

Building on its partnership with Ferrari, the American team intends to continue its progress, counting in particular on the reinforcement of Kevin Magnussen replacing the Mexican Esteban Gutiérrez.

The Dane believes he has found a structure that suits him at Haas F1 Team, after having evolved at McLaren then Renault. “It is much easier to develop here than the other Formula 1 teams I have worked with, comments Magnussen in BT.

And it's not just because the Haas team is smaller and there are fewer employees. This is also because responsibilities are clearly defined. »

The former McLaren driver specifies that 2017 must mark continuity in the progression of Haas F1 Team, highlighting in particular the quality of the Ferrari Power Unit and the collaboration with the Italian team.

"I think Ferrari had the second best engine last year, after the Mercedes, but ahead of Renault and Honda, comments Magnussen. I think that will be the case again this year. »

Building on a first part of the season where Romain Grosjean filled up on points between Australia and Russia, scoring 22 of the 29 points collected in 2016, Gene Haas's team then experienced a more delicate second half of the championship, with only two finishes in the points for the Frenchman .
