Kimi Räikkönen came a long way at Monza

Kimi Räikkönen saw his hopes of a podium go up in smoke at the start of the Italian GP at Monza as he started from 2nd position. Le pilot Ferrari completely missed his departure and found himself dead last before the first turn. The 2007 world champion, however, does not know what mistake he may have made, even though the assistance at the start has been canceled since the summer break.

“I don’t really know what happened.”, admitted the Finn. “I think I did everything correctly, but the car went into “anti-stall” mode and it didn't move. It cost me dearly. It's not easy to see the positive of the race when finding yourself last after a few seconds while I was 2nd on the grid. I lost a great opportunity to fight at the forefront. »

Kimi Räikkönen was nevertheless able to recover to move up to 5th position between the Williams by Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas and the Force India of Sergio Pérez and Nico Hulkenberg. “I'm obviously a little disappointed because I was hoping for a better result for the team's national race, but we can say that it's still satisfactory if we think about the situation after a few hundred meters”, added Iceman.
