Kimi Räikkönen still motivated but realistic

Motivated, Kimi Räikkönen is. Ambitious, Iceman is even more so. The 2007 World Champion still hopes to win a new world title since his return to action in F1 in 2012 with Lotus. His transfer to the Team at the start of the 2014 season had raised great hopes among its supporters. If for the moment, the Finn is dominated by his teammate Fernando Alonso, he nonetheless remains focused on his work on the development of the F14 T. He knows, however, that the championship is almost inaccessible this season.

“I think it will be very difficult for anyone to fight with the drivers Mercedes, but we never know. I would like it to be us although it will be difficult, especially for me personally, given my position in the championship, explains the former Lotus driver. But I have always been used to fighting and with the team, which is still working on the development of the F14 T, I hope to be able to achieve good results. As I said, we are doing an incredible amount of work and I think we will resolve our issues, but it takes time. If we achieve it before the end of the season, the results will come because my motivation is intact. I have more experience compared to 2007 and I'm a little older, but I don't feel it and I still have a great desire to race. »

Kimi Räikkönen remains disillusioned in the Principality of Monaco. Having held on to 3rd place for a long time, Iceman was slightly caught by Chilton's Marussia, which caused a puncture on his F14 T. From then on his race was ruined, before a final incident with Magnussen at the Grand Hôtel hairpin at the end of the Grand Prix.
