Kobayashi: Caterham suffering financially

The future of Caterham F1 Team seems very gloomy since the mysterious remarks of its boss Tony Fernandes who indicated that “it won’t have worked in F1” just before closing his Twitter account. This fact comes just after the Austrian Grand Prix where rumors were already suggesting a possible absence of the Malaysian team which is in financial difficulties and which still cannot fight for points.

Kamui Kobayashi did not give details on the situation of the Leafield structure but the Japanese still admitted that Caterham F1 Team was in an unfortunate position. “I’m not really interested in rumors.”, replied the Japanese to questions from Sky Sports Online. “Of course, I hope that’s not true. I'm here to lead and I can't change anything. I can't bring money or other things. We are in a very difficult situation financially, but I have to concentrate on my work trying to achieve the best possible result. I just hope someone helps the team. That's the only thing I can say. »

The Japanese driver also admitted that the lack of performance of the CT05s was frustrating. “I want to fight with the mid-grid teams and aim for the points. I don't want to be four or five seconds from the front. They are not in the same category for me. Its pretty hard. »
