Kobayashi looking forward to Türkiye

After entering the points in the last two races, Kamui Kobayashi will rediscover the Istanbul Park circuit where he excelled last season.

The Sauber driver has had a good start to the season. With seven points scored in the last two races, the teammate of Sergio Perez occupies 10th place in the Championship. The Japanese is preparing to return to the Istanbul Park track that he particularly likes.

Kamui Kobayashi indeed has good memories of the Turkish GP. “ It is an exciting circuit which is one of my favorites », admits the Sauber driver. “ Our performance was quite good last year. We scored our first point of the season when I finished the race in 10th place. There are a few high-speed corners that I particularly like and I think we can be quite competitive in Turkey. »

Like many, the Japanese believes that the management of Pirelli tires will be the key to success. “ The level of grip is generally low, which means that the cars will tend to slide a lot. I think it will be crucial to keep the front tires as a priority. »
