Kolles: “Incredibly proud of the team”

The HRT team had a very difficult qualification. Its two drivers, Vitantonio Liuzzi and Narain Karthikeyan, finished beyond the pole position 107% of the time. Although he may be rightly disappointed, Colin Kolles, the team manager, nevertheless does not hide a certain satisfaction. “I am incredibly proud of the whole team, he acknowledges. Our pilots did the most in the shortest possible time. We managed to have both cars in time for qualifying and proved that the car was capable of running more than yesterday. The circumstances in which we arrived were not optimal. We performed a miracle once again, but it was not enough. We will come back even stronger than ever to Malaysia. We will need more time to test the car and show where the F111 really stands. »

For his part, Vitantonio Liuzzi does not seem bitter. “We are looking towards Malaysia where we will be faster. We can be happy with what we did, our lap times are better than we expected and we believe our car will be better in the future. »

One thing is certain, the team will undoubtedly be obliged to lower its objectives. With one Grand Prix less, it will be very difficult to grab that 6th place in the manufacturers' standings envisaged by Colin Kolles.
