Reserve driverAlfa Romeo since this season, Robert Kubica will once again board the C39. For the fifth time this year, the former BMW-Sauber driver will take part in the first free practice session of a race weekend.
As in Styria, Hungary, Great Britain and Bahrain, Robert Kubica will be entitled to 90 minutes of driving during free practice 1 of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Antonio Giovinazzi will therefore hand over his steering wheel to him before taking it back for the rest of the weekend.
« Every time I drive this car, it's an opportunity for me to bring to the team (...) Getting behind the wheel is a way for me to familiarize myself with the car. It allows me to give better information to the team ».
In addition to FP1, Robert Kubica has been named Alfa Romeo driver for post-season testing in Abu Dhabi. Callum Ilott was also chosen by the Hinwil team for this week of testing.
