Kubica confirmed at Renault

After the departure of Fernando Alonso in Ferrari from 2010, Robert Kubica was tipped to replace the Spaniard. Aged 24, the Pole made his debut in 2006 at BMW and therefore joined the French team from 2010. “ I am very happy to join Renault in 2010. With Renault, I share their spirit of competitiveness and I appreciate the openness and conviviality that reign within the team. I am very motivated and optimistic that together we can be at the top of the grid next year, and I hope we will be able to fight for the world championship.

Bob Bell, the team director since the departure of Flavio Briatore, was also delighted with this announcement. “ We are delighted to welcome Robert to the Renault F1 Team from next season. We have followed Robert's career since his beginnings in Formula 1 in 2006. He is one of the most talented drivers of his generation and he has proven it. We are therefore happy to have been able to recruit him. Renault has a lot of ambition and hope for the future of the team, and we believe that Robert can play a decisive role in achieving our objectives. »

The Pole knows the house well since he studied the various promotional formulas of the diamond firm. He thus went through the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 before winning the Formula Renault 3.5 Series title in 2005. " I already have a special relationship with the team that won the World Series by Renault in 2005. This victory gave me the opportunity to test with Renault in Barcelona which then allowed me to make my debut in Formula 1. .”
