Kubica: “The right moment”

What assessment do you draw from your BMW Sauber years?
A little mixed, obviously. BMW Sauber allowed me to take the plunge into F1, to log a lot of kilometers and start my career. The team has sometimes entrusted me with very good cars; which allowed me to win a Grand Prix and maintain the lead in the 2008 championship for half the season. Alas, we have also experienced difficult times? There is not much more to say.

You had several proposals for 2010. Why did you choose Renault?
Because in my eyes, it was the best opportunity for the rest of my career. There are a lot of emotional factors that came into play and convinced me that Renault was the best team for me. I hope? I think my perception, my feelings are the right ones.

Was it at the wheel of a Renault that you took your very first laps in an F1? Was it written somewhere that you were going to meet again?
I don't know? I believe a lot in destiny, or more precisely in a form of predestination. I believe that individuals follow their path and that certain events are written and happen. This signature is perhaps an illustration of this. I had the opportunity to join Renault for the 2006 season after the test carried out at the end of 2005 and, for certain reasons, I preferred to respond to the invitation from BMW. Now our paths cross again. Time takes time. Today is the right time.
