Robert Kubica recently had elbow surgery to regain greater flexibility. This surgery, carried out during the Belgian Grand Prix, was the last undergone by the Pole, who is still continuing his intensive rehabilitation with a view to competing in the 2012 season with Lotus-Renault GP.
However, Éric Boullier indicated that he needed a quick response from Robert Kubica so as not to find himself in an unfortunate position for next year. Daniele Morelli indicated that the answer would be given at the beginning of November. “Kubica would have been essential this season and we hope he will be back next year”, commented the manager on Gazetta dello Sport. “There is still no certainty about his condition. However, we will be able to give the first indications from November, with the interests of the team also at stake."
The Pole's manager wants to remain hopeful about his driver's full recovery, even if time is running out for Lotus-Renault GP. “Robert works on his right elbow by stretching, soon he will be able to bend it completely. He lacks strength but it?s only a matter of time. I often speak with Boullier, he will have an answer at the beginning of November, whether positive or negative, when we will have a clearer idea of the situation. I remain optimistic. »
