Kvyat defends himself after his clash with Pérez: “I have seen more violent than that”

During his first phase of career in Formula 1, Daniil Kvyat had acquired the uncomplimentary nickname of “The Torpedo ". The Russian had the nasty habit of confusing speed with haste, and had caught Sebastian Vettel twice in the spring of 2016.

Three and a half years later, the pilot Toro Rosso has not changed his offensive temperament. After sending Nico Hülkenberg (Renault) into the wall in Mexico, the 3 GP2013 Series champion did it again with a kamikaze attack in the last lap on Sergio Pérez (Racing Point):

As for his maneuver in Mexico, Daniil Kvyat was penalized and lost 10th place gain. " It's incredible ! The commissioners are really... I don't have the words... It's stupid, so stupid! This is unacceptable ", he reacted hotly in the space reserved for TV interviews.

A few moments later, the Russian had calmed down somewhat. But his point of view remained the same. “I snatched this point on the track and it was taken away from me for apparently being too aggressive. I have seen more violent than that without being penalized. »

And Daniil Kvyat played poor targets. “I am very disappointed that this happened to me. I often feel that when I do something, they give me a penalty. Verstappen and Leclerc in Austria, there was no sanction. Ok, I'll just keep fighting. What else can I do? »
