The abandonment of the two Haas is “unacceptable” according to Steiner

Haas don't lead far. The American team, ranked only 9th in the constructors' championship, is currently going through a period of turbulence. In addition to encountering difficulties with its title sponsor Rich Energy, the single-seaters of the American team have a series of repeated incidents during the race, like Romain Grosjean spins out of the pits, during free practice.

It was only a postponement, since the first lap of the race saw the two drivers of the team clash, forcing them to stop in the pits, then to retire. A heavy situation for the team, which Gunther Steiner can no longer bear: “It was a very disappointing race for us. […] What happened is unacceptable. We find ourselves in a difficult position, everyone is working hard. And when you have a chance to succeed, when everything is good, you crash at turn 5 » explains the stable director.

The tension rose a notch this weekend, Romain Grosjean et Kevin Magnussen having been immediately summoned to Günther Steiner's office after the incident. A situation already known to both teammates, after the Barcelona incident (Spain) which had caused the loss of positions (and points) for Romain Grosjean. For now, Steiner is clear: “We are a team, and everyone must work for the team. I want everyone to go in the same direction. [...] I need to calm down and come back with a solution, that's my job. »
