Lack of fight poses problem for Hamilton

Si Lewis Hamilton is no longer a member of the Grand Prix Drivers' Association (GPDA), the Briton did not fail, like all the drivers on the 2016 field, to take part in the meeting organized in Melbourne which led to the publication of an open letter from the association to the governing bodies of the discipline.

For the pilot Mercedes, it is the blatant lack of fight on the track which is clearly lacking in F1. “We love cars, we love racing, we love wheel-to-wheel showdowns. Almost all of us started with karts, and we miss the intensity of the races we experienced.

Our current cars are fantastic on a rolling lap, but that's not the problem. It's the running that's the problem, or rather the lack of running. You will never be as close to your opponent as in karting, but there are technical solutions to allow racing wheel to wheel in car.

My races were better in GP2, and I had more fun there. It was more exciting because I could stay close to the other cars. »
