The F1 – MotoGP exchange between Hamilton and Rossi

Expected for several days, the exchange of mounts between two sacred motorsport monsters took place on the Valencia track in Spain.

Lewis Hamilton, world champion F1 2019, his sixth title, and Valentino Rossi, seven-time winner in MotoGP, were able to test respectively the Yamaha M1 and the Mercedes W08 from 2017 on the Ricardo Tormo route.

“It's great to see a legend like Valentino in the car, says Hamilton. I'm delighted for him to discover the car for the first time. It reminds me of my first time in F1. »

“I was a big fan of Lewis before, but now I'm even bigger, comments Rossi for his part. We had a fantastic day where the two best categories of motorsport not only met but worked together. I felt like a real F1 driver for a day. I didn't want it to end. »

Rossi and Hamilton also shared a few laps together on the motorbike, with the Briton surprising his teacher of the day.

“Technically Valencia is a difficult track and today it was windy, so at one point I thought it would be difficult for Lewis to continue, but he was brilliant on the bike and his position on the M1 was excellent. I think he had a lot of fun, which is the main thing. »

Other MotoGP riders were able to try their hand at car, notably Marc Marquez with a Toro Rosso –Honda. For his part, Valentino Rossi will find a racing car again this weekend with the 12 Hours of Abu Dhabi, on a Ferrari 488 GT3 from Kessel Racing.
